We have a playoff game this weekend. It was always our intent to host that game at Hoover. We played the Poca game at WV State to preserve the field. That said, there was a lot of slipping and sliding on the field Friday night against Logan. The field is not in terrible shape, but it is not in good shape. Fairmont has chosen to play at 1:30 on Saturday. The visiting team chooses the time. The home team chooses the site. We have chosen to play at Laidley Field.
I know some of you will be disappointed that we are not playing at Hoover. I wanted that as much as you. When I have a difficult decision to make, my mind always defaults back to what gives our kids the best opportunity to be successful. I spent all day yesterday on the phone with all the concerned parties. We think this is the best decision. I take full responsibility. If you are angry about it, you can call me. I will talk to you. I love this community. I love this team. I hope you will all show up for the team on Saturday. The boys want your support.
